  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, olive oil, and minced garlic until well combined.
  2. Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Marinate (Optional): For deeper flavor, place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the glaze over them. Let it marinate for 10 minutes. Reserve the other half of the glaze for brushing during cooking.
  4. Cook the Salmon:
    • Oven Method: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the salmon fillets on a parchment-lined baking sheet, skin-side down. Brush with additional glaze, reserving a little for finishing. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
    • Stovetop Method: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil, then place the salmon fillets, skin-side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, brushing with the glaze, until caramelized and cooked through.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges. Enjoy with rice or a side salad.
