Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, olive oil, and minced garlic until well combined.
- Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.
- Marinate (Optional): For deeper flavor, place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the glaze over them. Let it marinate for 10 minutes. Reserve the other half of the glaze for brushing during cooking.
- Cook the Salmon:
- Oven Method: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the salmon fillets on a parchment-lined baking sheet, skin-side down. Brush with additional glaze, reserving a little for finishing. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Stovetop Method: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil, then place the salmon fillets, skin-side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, brushing with the glaze, until caramelized and cooked through.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges. Enjoy with rice or a side salad.
