I have a table and chairs set up on my porch, so when the weather is nice, I can work out there. We’ve added a gate so the dogs can hang out with me and a comfy chair for reading. Last fall, I added some decorative lights too.
What I love most about this space is that directly in my line of sight are our bird bath and bird feeders. There was just one thing missing – a birdhouse.
As an avid birdwatcher and gardener, I was eager to try the Kingsyard Design Bird House with Prdator Guard. I am happy to report it has exceeded my expectations and become a wonderful addition to my front porch.
The first thing that struck me about this birdhouse was the exceptional craftsmanship. Constructed from thick, solid New Zealand Pine, the walls have a quality heft and durability that give me confidence this house will endure seasons to come. I appreciate that the wood has not been treated, providing a healthy and chemical-free home for my feathered friends.
The colors are bright and vibrant, which has added a wonderful touch to my porch.
I was also impressed by the ventilation system, featuring carefully placed air vents throughout. During hot summer days and cooler spring nights, airflow will remain optimized to create comfortable conditions inside. I’m sure the birds will appreciate this attention to their health and habitat needs!
The easy-open lid is a handy feature that allows me quick access inside for occasional cleaning and maintenance between nestings. I also enjoy being able to monitor activity through the transparent window fitted into the side. It provides a crack-resistant view while ensuring safety and privacy for the inhabitants within.
An aspect that gives me great peace of mind is the specialized predator guard (we have a lot of squirrels and raccoons around here). This is an extension protruding out from the entrance hole as an added barrier against would-be intruders. As both a bird enthusiast and caregiver, I want to do all I can to protect the young hatchlings when birds decide to nest. This design consideration shows the birdhouse experts at Kingsyard share my commitment.
With dimensions especially suited for species like bluebirds, wrens and chickadees, birds that frequent our bird feeders and bath, I can’t wait to see who decides to nest in the spring! I’ll keep you updated!
I would wholeheartedly recommend the Kingsyard Bird House to fellow birders and conservationists alike. It excellently fulfills both aesthetic and habitat needs for feathered tenants.
Although it’s winter now, this is a great time to set up your bird house. That way, it’s ready for the birds as soon as they arrive back to your yard, and any predators will have a chance to get used to the birdhouse’s location.
