With promises of reduced waste and hassle-free feeding for large flocks, the OverEZ Chicken Feeder has become a quick favorite for backyard chicken keepers. But does this gravity-fed feeder actually deliver on its claims? Our hands-on review covers everything you need to know, but we say YES!

OverEZ Chicken Feeder Review Features and Benefits

The OverEZ Chicken Feeder is a large capacity, automatic poultry feeder designed to minimize waste and make feeding chores easier. Key features include:

  • 50lb capacity means less refilling for big flocks
  • Gravity-fed design ensures chickens have constant access to feed
  • Unique bowed design of feeding tubes reduces waste
  • Rainproof construction allows outdoor use
  • Durable materials built to withstand weather and chickens

These features aim to save chicken owners time and money while keeping chickens happy and fed.

Construction and Quality

Made from a combination of metal and plastic components, the OverEZ feeder is sturdily constructed but not without flaws. The plastic lid and feeding tubes may be susceptible to damage, especially from aggressive chickens. However, the company is known for promptly replacing defective parts.

Overall, the materials and craftsmanship allow the feeder to hold up well outdoors and gives it an advantage over flimsier models. Just take care to protect the plastic elements from damage.

We have had ours for over a year and (although very dirty) it has held up very well. What I like most though is it is easy to clean with the pressure washer.

OverEZ Chicken Feeder Review Ease of Use

One of the OverEZ feeder’s major benefits is simplicity. It is easy to set up, fill, and maintain. Basically, you just throw it out there and fill it up! Chickens take to it quickly thanks to the intuitive feeding tube design.

Care does need to be taken to position the feeder at the optimal height to reduce waste as chickens acclimate. But simple adjustments like raising it on a cinder block make fine-tuning the feeder uncomplicated.

I do recommend putting it in an area where it can be protected as a good rainstorm will cause the feed to get wet if it is completely uncovered.

Customer Reviews

With over 2,000 Amazon reviews and a 4.6 star rating, the OverEZ chicken feeder enjoys overwhelming customer satisfaction. Poultry keepers consistently praise its large capacity, durability, and waste reduction.

Any complaints relate to minor design flaws that the company seems to readily assist with. We have never needed to contact the company about the feeder, so I can’t speak directly to the customer service. Overall, customers agree it makes feeding chores much easier and has them recommending it to others.

OverEZ Chicken Feeder Review Final Verdict

For those seeking an automatic feeder that makes feeding chores nearly effortless for a large flock, the OverEZ Chicken Feeder delivers. No product is perfect, but the benefits of this gravity feeder’s design overwhelmingly outweigh any minor flaws.

If you’re tired of frequently refilling feeders and wasting money on feed, the OverEZ may be the solution worth investing in.
