Ryan Chastain is the co-founder of the Waddle and Cluck homestead and the husband of founder Lindsey Chastain. He grew up on a homestead and has been working with his hands ever since. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee, part of the Naval Construction Force, and trained as a Navy machinist. Today he works as a lead machinist in the aeronautics industry, and that blend of construction know-how and precision engineering shapes how he approaches off-grid systems and homestead projects. When he is not in the shop, Ryan is usually camping, fishing, or hiking, and he writes about off-grid living and the outdoors for Waddle and Cluck from real, hands-on experience.
